Still a young company, Brigham Exploration was one of the first small independent exploration and production firms to use 3-D seismic imaging. The company continues to rely on 3-D and other advanced technologies for onshore exploration. It explores mainly in the Anadarko Basin, the onshore Texas Gulf Coast, and West Texas. Since its founding by CEO Ben Brigham in 1990, Brigham Exploration has drilled 760 wells. In 2007 the company had 284 gross and 104 net productive wells. That year Brigham Exploration had estimated proved reserves of about 140.2 billion cu. ft. of natural gas equivalent.
