CAPITOL FED FINL Profile

Dorothy and Toto may not be in Kansas anymore, but Capitol Federal Financial is. The holding company owns Capitol Federal Savings Bank, a thrift that serves metropolitan areas throughout the Sunflower State, including Kansas City, Emporia, Lawrence, Manhattan, Salina, Topeka, and Wichita. It has nearly 40 branches serving consumers and commercial customers by offering loans, CDs, and money market, checking, and savings accounts. The thrift mainly originates one- to four-family home mortgages (almost 95% of its loan portfolio), but it also writes consumer, construction, and other real estate loans.
