Credence Systems supplies semiconductor makers with the proof they need to believe in their chips. The company makes automatic test equipment and related software used during the design, validation, and manufacturing stages of semiconductor production. Credence's products test analog, digital, mixed-signal, and radio-frequency wireless integrated circuits used in PCs, phones, cars, cameras, televisions, and other products. Credence offers sales and support through its own domestic and overseas branches and through a worldwide network of suppliers. The company derives about 70% of its sales from customers outside North America. In 2008 Credence agreed to merge with rival LTX in a stock-swap transaction.
