Insurance holding company FBL Financial Group is the parent of Farm Bureau Life and EquiTrust Life. Through these subsidiaries the firm sells property/casualty and life insurance including disability insurance, annuities, and mutual funds to farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses. Farm Bureau Life sells its insurance and annuities through an exclusive network of some 2,000 agents in the Midwest and West. EquiTrust Life's annuity products are sold through about 20,000 independent agents across the US. The company markets its products through an affiliation with the American Farm Bureau Federation. The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation owns a majority stake in the company.
