John H. Marmaduke, age 61, has served as Hastings" President and Chief Executive Officer since July 1976 and as Chairman of the Board since October 1993. He is a member of our Executive Committee. Mr. Marmaduke"s current term as director expires in 2009. Mr. Marmaduke also serves on the Board of Directors of Entertainment Merchants Association. Mr. Marmaduke received the 1998 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for the Southwest Retail/Consumer Products Industry. Mr. Marmaduke has been active in the entertainment retailing industry with us and our predecessor company for over 30 years.

Dan Crow, age 61, has served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the Company since October 2000. From July of 2000 to October 2000, Mr. Crow served as Vice President of Finance. Mr. Crow is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International.

Phil McConnell, age 45, has served as Vice President and Divisional Merchandise Manager, responsible for Music, Trends, Consumables, Distribution and Inventory Management, since June 2006. Mr. McConnell most recently served for nine years as Vice President of Merchandising, VMI Services for Alliance Entertainment Corporation (AEC), the largest wholesale distributor of prerecorded music and movies in the nation. Previously, Mr. McConnell served in senior merchandising positions with Best Buy and Circuit City.

Victor Fuentes, age 41, has served as Vice President and Divisional Merchandise Manager, responsible for Books, Movies, Video Games, Consumer Electronics and all Used Product Initiatives, since October 2007. Mr. Fuentes has served as Divisional Merchandise Manager of Movies, Video Games, and Consumer Electronics since June 2006. From June 2000 to June 2006, he served as Senior Product Director of Movies and Video Games. Mr. Fuentes joined Hastings in 1987 as a store associate. In September 1989, he was promoted to the corporate office and subsequently held various positions in the Company prior to serving as Senior Buyer from September 1994 to May 2000.

Danny W. Gurr, age 50, has served as a director of Hastings since September 2005 and is the Chairman of our Compensation Committee and a member of our Director Nominating Committee. Mr. Gurr"s current term as director expires in 2010. Mr. Gurr is a management consultant and has served as a director of Cost Plus, Inc., a leading specialty retailer of casual home living and entertaining products since 1995. He also served as interim President of Cost Plus, Inc. during 2005. Since September 2004, Mr. Gurr has served as Director and President of Make Believe Ideas, Inc., a publisher of children"s books. Mr. Gurr also serves as Director of Millennium House, an Australian publishing company. From January 2002 until July 2003, Mr. Gurr served as the President of Quarto Holdings, Inc., a leading international co-edition publisher.

Daryl L. Lansdale, age 67, has served as a director of Hastings since March 2001 and is a member of our Audit Committee, our Compensation Committee, and our Director Nominating Committee. Since 2002, Mr. Lansdale has been a consultant and a private investor. Mr. Lansdale was President of Rush Retail Centers from March 1998 to January 2002.

Frank O. Marrs, age 63, has served as a director of Hastings since April 2003 and is the Chairman of our Audit Committee and a member of our Director Nominating Committee and Executive Committee. Mr. Marrs has served as Chief Executive Officer of Gupton Marrs International since 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Marrs was employed by KPMG LLP, serving in several leadership positions, including National Managing Partner of Audit.

Jeffrey G. Shrader, age 57, has served as a director of Hastings since October 1992 and is a member of our Executive Committee. Mr. Shrader"s current term as director expires in 2009. Mr. Shrader has been a shareholder in the law firm of Sprouse Shrader Smith, P.C. in Amarillo, Texas since January 1993. Mr. Shrader is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Parallel Petroleum Corporation.

Ann S. Lieff, age 56, has served as a director of Hastings since December 2001 and is a member of our Audit Committee, our Compensation Committee, and our Director Nominating Committee. Ms. Lieff"s current term as director expires in 2010. Ms. Lieff is the founder of The Lieff Company and has been its President since 1998. Ms. Lieff currently serves as a board member of Herzfeld Caribbean Basin Fund, Inc., Birks & Mayors Inc., and is a member of the Executive Advisory Board of University of Denver, Daniels College of Business. Ms. Lieff also served as a Board member of Claires Stores, Inc from 2003 through 2007.

Kevin Ball, age 51, has served as Vice President of Marketing of the Company since May of 2004. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Ball served as Vice President of Marketing at Organized Living, a specialty retailer of home organization products, headquartered in Kansas City. From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Ball held the position of Vice President of Marketing at Crown Books in Washington, D.C. and from 1995 to 2000 was the Director of Marketing at Trans World Entertainment in Albany, N.Y.

On May 2, 2008, Hastings Entertainment, Inc. announced that Sue Dasse, age 54, will join the Company as Vice President of Stores, effective May 19, 2008. Ms. Dasse previously served as Vice President of Store Operations, Waldenbooks and later as Senior Vice President of Stores, Borders Specialty Retail for Borders Group, Inc. Most recently, Ms. Dasse served as Vice President of Store Operations, Catherines Plus Sizes, for Charming Shoppes, Inc., a leading multi-channel specialty apparel retailer that primarily focuses on plus-size women"s apparel.

Alan Van Ongevalle, age 40, has served as Senior Vice President of Merchandising of the Company since February 2007. From February 2003 until February 2005, Mr. Van Ongevalle served as Vice President of Information Technology and Distribution. From August 2002 to February 2003, Mr. Van Ongevalle served as Vice President of Marketing and Distribution. From May 2000 to August 2002, Mr. Van Ongevalle served as Vice President of Marketing. From August 1999 to May 2000, Mr. Van Ongevalle served as the Senior Director of Marketing and as Director of Advertising from September 1998 to August 1999. Mr. Van Ongevalle joined Hastings in November 1992 and held various store operation management positions including Store Manager, Director of New Stores and the Southern Kansas area through September 1998.

John Hintz, age 43, has served as Vice President of Information Technology of the Company since February 2007. Mr. Hintz previously served as Senior Director of Application Development since August 2006. From February 2006 to August 2006, he served as the Director of Application Development. From August 2003 to August 2006, he served as Director of Retail Technologies. He was promoted to Director of Store Systems in August of 2001. Mr. Hintz joined Hastings in 1987 as a store associate.
