Hughes Communications keeps its principal assets even higher than visionary Howard Hughes could have imagined. Through its operating subsidiary, Hughes Network Systems, the company provides broadband satellite products and services. It uses its very small aperture terminal (VSAT) equipment and satellite network to provide consumers and businesses with broadband Internet access. The company's network also enables network applications ranging from voice services to credit authorization. In addition to its services, the company provides equipment used by fixed and mobile communication systems operators.
