LIN TV CORP Profile

This company spells success with TV call letters. LIN TV owns and operates about 30 stations serving nearly 20 markets in about a dozen states. Its portfolio of stations includes affiliates with all the major networks -- mostly CBS and FOX -- as well as those affiliated with smaller networks The CW Network and MyNetworkTV. It also has a handful of Spanish-language stations affiliated with TeleFutura and Univision (both owned by Univision Communications). In addition, the company owns 20% of a joint venture with NBC Universal parent General Electric that operates NBC stations in Dallas and San Diego. Board member Royal W. Carson owns about 35% voting control of LIN TV.
