It takes two companies to make one Unilever. Along with Unilever N.V., Unilever PLC owns Unilever. The three companies comprise the Unilever Group. Based in England, Unilever PLC trades on the London and New York stock exchanges. Unilever's products include food, personal care products, beverages, and consumer products. The company's products portfolio includes popular brand names Breyers and Magnum (ice creams), Dove and Lux (soaps), Lipton (tea), Close Up (oral care), and Vaseline. Unilever was the #1 consumer products maker worldwide -- until Procter & Gamble purchased Gillette in late 2005. Unilever sold its Unilever Cosmetics International unit to Coty for about $800 million.
