These records were made to be listened to, not broken. Warner Music Group (WMG) is one of the largest recording companies in the world and ranks #3 in terms of US market share (behind Universal Music Group and Sony BMG Music Entertainment). The company operates through two businesses: Recorded Music and Music Publishing. Its Recorded Music catalog includes the best-selling albums The Eagles: Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 and Led Zeppelin IV. Its Music Publishing business holds more than one million copyrights. Thomas H. Lee Partners owns more than 35% of WMG, which in 2006 rejected a $4.2 billion takeover bid from its larger rival EMI Group. On the flipside, EMI rejected a $4.2 billion offer from WMG in 2007.
