    The investment seeks to maximize total return. The fund normally invests at least 80% of net assets in domestic and foreign corporate high yield debt securities, including zero coupon, payment in-kind and convertible bonds. It normally will not invest more than 10% of net assets either in securities rated in the category of "CCC" or lower or non-rated securities the fund's investment adviser believes are of comparable quality. The fund may invest up to 10% of net assets in emerging market countries and up to 5% in any one type of these securities.

    Steven Lee
    Start Date: 01/30/2009
    Steve Lee, FX Trading & Portfolio Manager, is responsible for FX and Derivative trading. He has been active in Global Macro strategies and FX trading since 1995. Most recently, he was a Senior Vice President and FX Trader with HSBC Bank USA. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Mathematics from Yale University and his MBA in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business.

    Stenwall, managing director, portfolio manager, is a member of the investment team and shares responsibility for the firm’s fixed income portfolio management. As of 2008, he is a dual Rittenhouse and Nuveen Asset Management employee where he specializes in investment-grade, high-yield,mortgage, asset-backed, global fixed-income, and currency markets.
    Christian Romon
    Start Date: 12/20/2004
    Romon is managing director with Nuveen Asset Management. Prior to joining NAM in 2004, was the managing director in charge of Credit Research and Portfolio Management and the lead high yield portfolio manager for BACAP. From 1996 through 2000, he was the director of research for Bradford & Marzec, Inc. He joined the investment community as a securities research analyst for Paine Webber, Inc. in 1985.
    Emmanuel Labrinos

    Labrinos is a senior portfolio manager and trader of the funds’ investment team. Prior to joining in Nuveen Asset Management, Inc. in 2005, he served in a similar role at BACAP where he was a senior portfolio manager and head credit trader. During his tenure at BACAP from 1997 to 2004, he also managed a commercial mortgage backed portfolio, and was in charge of managing all intermediate and coreseparate accounts.

    Prior to joining NAM in 2004, Abourjeili held a similar position with BACAP. Previously, he was a senior management consultant in the Strategy Group of Deloitte Consulting, focusing on the financial services sector.
