The investment seeks to maximize total return, consistent with preservation of capital.
The fund primarily invests in a diversified portfolio of securities of different maturities, including U.S. government securities, U.S. government agency securities, securities issued by U.S. government sponsored enterprises and U.S. government instrumentalities, corporate bonds, asset-backed securities and mortgage-backed securities. It may invest at least 70% of net assets in securities rated at least A and may invest up to 30% of net assets in securities rated BBB/Baa and up to 10% in securities rated below BBB/Baa.
