The fund invests at least 80% of net assets in debt securities. It invests primarily in a variety of investment-grade debt securities, such as mortgage-backed, U.S. government securities, corporate bonds, and money market instruments. The fund normally has a weighted average maturity about five to 10 years, but is subject to no limitation with respect to the maturities of the instruments in which it may invest. It may also invest to a lesser extent in asset-backed securities, high yield securities and foreign debt securities.
