The investment seeks current income exempt from federal and California income taxes, consistent with preservation of capital.
The fund invests in California municipal securities and in participation and other interests in municipal securities issued by banks, insurance companies or other financial institutions, the income from which is exempt from regular federal income taxes and California state personal income taxes, although it may be subject to the alternative minimum tax. It may invest up to 20% of assets in bonds rated below investment-grade bonds or in unrated securities. The fund is nondiversified.
